• London, Salisbury (Stonehenge), Bath Preparation - 5 March 2010 ( The idea to go to London was very impromptu. I was at the Women For Women International website, as I visit there sometimes. I knew about their Join Me On The Bridge event some while ago, but at that time I thought it's a little far for me to go. )

• my five goals for 2010... - 28 February 2010 ( Sometime in January I made a list of five goals to accomplish this year. I kept it to five because it's a small enough number to not get overwhelm by trying to achieve too many things, yet is sufficient enough for me to think out and list the important things that I want to accomplish this year, as opposed to something that can wait another year or another. So briefly, here they are... )

• obstacles and blessings - 18 February 2010 ( Third week's challenge is to write about an obstacle that I overcame, and I have been putting it off for a while. )

January 2010

• just a camera and a destination - 31 January 2010 ( I've been scratching my head with this week's topic, "First stage of a new product." I do two things which falls under 'product' - publish a magazine (the more serious of the two) and photography (in a more hobby-amateur-ish scale, which I then offer prints of on Etsy). )
• Action - 22 January 2010 ( I have spent the last two years learning. After all these information that I have absorbed, and the trials and errors made, I feel that it is now time that I step up and play a bigger game. No more second-guessing myself, my abilities or my intentions. As it dawned on me that this is the new year of a new decade, I thought that the timing just couldn't have been more perfect. Where do I see myself at 10 years from now? After a reflection, I have chosen my word mantra for this year, to get my gears started and going. That word is ACTION. To take action in the parts of my life that will propel me to be where I see myself at 10 years from now. )
• Snih, Snih - 15 January 2010 ( As a kid, I used to wonder how it's like behind the freezer doors when it closed in on you. Well I got my answers now. )

November 2009

• Italians vs Europeans - 18 November 2009 ( This will surely have you cracking up! :) )
• Travelways no.2 - 6 November 2009 ( Travelways no.2 )
• Mushroom no.1 - 4 November 2009 ( I was taking a walk, alone, by the mountains near where we camped. There were lots of mushrooms, mostly portobellos and puffballs, the very few that I recognized. We had already picked some for dinner the day before, and they were good. )

September 2009

• Napping (and Reading) Nooks - 9 September 2009 ( I have been looking out for inspirational interiors, making small notes of those that I like, when I got the idea of collecting and compiling them into sort of like a mood-book. Something like a mood board, with more pages. While Jirka is now more concerned with the building of the house, I thought this could be a fun project to do on the side, and when the time comes for us to think of what goes on on the inside, we'd have the compilation to refer to for ideas. )
• Každou středu učim se Češtinu - 4 September 2009 ( That means every Wednesday I'm learning Czech. So I thought scanning some of my past homework could be interesting to show you; see all the red marks? )

• STYL - 11 August 2009 ( I have been busy lately organising and designing a recent project to launch an indie magazine. I've been very excited, but was putting off writing about it here till I am sure it's more confirmed. Now I guess it's time to let the word out on my own blog. So here's a peek at some of the pages and article inside the magazine... )
• Pristine White - 6 August 2009 ( I instantly fell in love with the concept when I saw these photos. Pure minimalist and without much fuss. I like the way the monotony of the white is broken only by the wooden floorboards. )
• respekt - 6 August 2009 ( I first heard Regina Spektor's songs about two years ago and was instantly smitten! Her style -- her music, her videos, and her looks -- is awkwardly interesting, and very unique. )
• Igor Višňakov with Sasha Pivovarova - 4 August 2009 ( Ain't she a darl'? Taken by photographer Igor Višňakov with top Russian model Sasha Pivovarova. I loved the way it was styled, very boudoir-ish, and thought it would be nice to start off a collection of tearsheets for inspiration and reference, archiving them digitally here and on Flickr. )
• Flowers in my garden - 2 August 2009 ( Some of you may remember from my previous post that I have been getting my hands dirty and playing in the dirt. Well I haven't really done much documenting in terms of writing, but.. I have taken photos during their growth, and here are the latest. Aren't they looovely? :) )
• Change And Consequence - 1 August 2009 ( What do you think about my new layout? I have been wanting to make it over, and took the chance to this weekend when the man isn't around. This website has gone through so much change that before I started on this one, I virtually sat down with my intention. What was it meant to be when I registered for it in the first place? I wanted to really get it straight once and for all. )

• Chrudim - 28 July 2009 ( I was in Chrudim yesterday for an appointment with someone from the local driving school, and have taken the opportunity to take a few photos. The town center is stunning. )
• Down Town in Pardubice - 26 July 2009 ( I realized that while I have been showing you scenes from some of my travels around the country and continent, I haven't really shown those that are right here in Pardubice. )
• Mělník - 24 July 2009 ( It was after dinner in a town called Mělník, and there was a very pretty after-rain, sunset light. )

• marianne hair clip - 21 June 2009 ( marianne hair clip. USD$36. (In store soon!)... well what do you think? I am smitten by how this one turned out! :) It certainly has that vintage-french chic feel to it, don't you think? )
• perfectness in perfect - 17 June 2009 ( I spent the afternoon yesterday wrapping these hair clips with satin ribbon, prepping them for the base for other hair couture designs. My fingers were all crampy by the end of it, but I think it does look pretty neat, and definitely more couture-ish than if they were simply left as metal. Saves the hair too, that's a bonus. )
• playful shades - 14 June 2009 ( I was browsing through wedding magazines online, and guess what caught my eye? Yep, the vintage paper chair decor! Ah, such lovelies. :) )
• bright lights - 14 June 2009 ( Since I had first begun thinking of crafting again, my mind has been swarming with ideas on directions this new venture will take, shooting off in every direction. So, in an attempt at collecting them together and making it into something bit more cohesive... )

• featured in the Storque! - 31 May 2009 ( Ok, I am a week late for this discovery, but it still felt good anyway! I occasionally check craftcult.com for shop and item hearts, and soooometimes over to the Featured page to see if I was featured anywhere. This time, it was a pleasant surprise! )
• vintage music sheet rosette - 29 May 2009 ( I have been dying to try my hands on making rosettes using the vintage music sheets that I have, inspired by all the fabric rosettes I see everywhere now (ooh I love them so!). And so, lo and behold... My first attempt! )
• Instructions for Life from the Dalai Lama - 28 May 2009 ( Instructions for life from the Dalai Lama. )
• automobile deconstructed - 28 May 2009 ( These vintage plates of cars and motorcycle parts are few of the latest additions to Antikvariat, and I must say, when I first lay eyes on them I instantly fell in love! Not only are the illustrations clear and detailed complete with descriptions, being printed in 1957, they also show us the mechanics of a car or a motorcycle back in history, something an automobile enthusiast would definitely appreciate. )
• a journey through (art) history - 27 May 2009 ( When I was in school, a subject I truly enjoyed was Art History. That is still the subject that I would like to keep on studying, and even more so now ever since I got more exposed to seeing old art pieces while doing research for Antikvariat. )
• smells of coffee in the morning - 25 May 2009 ( Last week I was down with a bad flu. My throat was hurting and my nose was blocked. I made coffee at work as I usually do. As I was drinking it, I thought to myself - What is this? )
• c.1930 K. Kuchar Vintage Map of North America - 24 May 2009 ( Newly listed in the Etsy shop is this circa 1930 vintage map of North America. It is very detailed and is in good overall vintage condition. It was edited by the famous cartographer Karel Kuchar and printed in the Czech Republic. Do check it out. )
• little bit of updates - 24 May 2009 ( I have been working on this site, adding a little bit here and a little bit there, and now as I sit back and take a look at it, I must say that it is now starting to look more and more like a nicely maintained website/blog. )

• what's your number? - 7 April 2009 ( For us who would rather be creating beautiful art with our hands, than fiddling with the calculator and being baffled by numbers, this online fee calculator by Ryan Olbe is truly indispensable. )

March 2009

• Senses awakened - 29 March 2009 ( I bought a bike several weeks back, but it was only now that it is nice enough to use it for what it was intended for - to explore! On Saturday, the sun came out and it was about 13 degrees outside, warm enough that only a fleece jacket was enough. We first cycled along the road that leads to Prelovice village, and then continued on several trails through the forest. )
• on paper - 27 March 2009 ( I was thinking about some fun details that I can put into Antikvariat, when the idea of dropping in a few random quotes came to mind. The core of Antikvariat has been about vintage papers and all things antiquarian, so searching for quotes on "paper", I came up with several quotes that were nicely written. )
• when the real one is gone... - 24 March 2009 ( sina from eraseandrepeat blogged about a really cool program that transforms your digital pictures into polaroid look-a-likes. after seeing the pictures she played around with, i went, "i definitely have to try that!" ... and so i did. )
• welcome spring - 23 March 2009 ( the days are warmer and longer now, and it has already begun to look nice. it's probably the nuance of spring, that the earth is starting to wake up once again and coming to life, that it got me into gardening once more. )
• thank you for the morning - 17 March 2009 ( i am at work now, but i seriously have to skive. to write this entry. seriously. :) )

• cut here - 10 March 2009 ( ok, it's almost lunchtime now, so i'll skive a bit and do a blog update. hehe. i've been itching to get crafting again, and so i have been on the lookout for craft shops, stationery shops, and such. one thing that i am now kicking myself about is that i should have brought with me the cutting mat! )
• the antique bookstore - 8 March 2009 ( it's march now, and it has been almost three months since i have been in czech. and it's time now for a new start... my hopes is that i am able to detail the journey that i take.. on the quirks of living in a different country.. and on starting out a new online shop ~ antikvariat! )
